This is a lovely church with a park in front of it. Great town to spend some time walking around in.

As this is situated next to the park with the world's largest ox cart it is easy to visit at the same time. A beautiful church, typical of several you will find across Costa Rica.

This is a beautiful twin tower church overlooking the small park in the centre of town. Chandeliers hang down through the centre of the church lighting up the impressive ceiling.

This visit was a part of my trip to La Fortuna, where we were going to visit Cigarron with the amazing hot spring waters. The church is nearby the little town's square. It's really parroquial, bringing back lots of memories from colonial times. Wonderful.

Iglesia de Sarchi is located in Sarchi, Costa Rica's Central Valley, across the street from La Carreta, the world's largest painted ox cart. The church is known for it's wood carvings, twin towers and vaulted ceiling. It a a lovely little church worth stopping of a quick visit if in town.

This church is beautiful. It is a must see even for a few minutes. It is in the center of town so there is an excitement in the air. Across the street is the park which I love to visit and just sit on the benches. There is HUGE Costa Rican Ox Cart in the park and at night the enclosure is lit up with multi-colored lights. It is a special place in a special country.

Stopped here to check out the church in Sarchi on my way to La Fortuna. It’s a beautiful church building and sits next to a nice park right in the center of this small, yet charming town.

Loved the square with the beautiful church and gigantic oxcart. Sarchi is a lovely town. Even the bridges are painted like the oxcarts.

We go to Sarchi around once a year when friends visit and we want to show them around. The church is in the same park as the big oxcart, so it's a nice stop to look around and stretch your legs. The only thing is that the church doesn't seem to ever be open when we go there (most recently it was on a Sunday afternoon). But supposedly it's nice inside. Outside, it's picturesque and we really like the painting and the bas relief-type figures.

Just above the plaza where you will find the world's largest oxcart, is this lovely church with twin towers. The church is painted a beautiful soft turquoise color - very soothing, and complimentary to the architecture. On the top of one of the towers is a cart wheel which commemorates one of the businesses that supported this town.

The central nave of the church is white-washed with natural wood ceilings punctuated by crystal chandeliers. The stained glass windows are simply done, and the floors are of polished limestone. I love the cool, serene look of this church. It's worth a visit if even for only five or ten minutes. Enjoy.
