Pretty. This is a decent sized stroll through a park. It is a beautiful place. Not much info regarding what flowers you are looking at. Only takes about 1/2 an hour to walk the park. However if you're big on flowers maybe longer. Kind of...More

Took a tour to Irazu Volcano which included this fabulous botanical garden. Built by an individual who donated it to the Costa Rican University in Cartago. Each area has good explanation. A Japanese garden co.plete with coy, waterfalls and bonsais. Botanicals and orchids! Very worthwhile.

The garden belongs to San Jose University. It's in a sorrowful state of neglect. Plants have to compete with weeds. Paths have no signal, or wrong ones. Same plants over and over. No plant identification. Plants are plagued with bugs, fungi. They are GRAY!!! Craving...More

This is another attraction that charges foreigners twice that what is charged for local visitors. Charging 10USD is not cheap for a botanical garden where you might not be able to see the orchids in bloom. I don't understand why foreigners should pay twice the...More

A big variety of native plants. The garden is well planned with a winding trail that takes you through various sections: Orchids, cacti, bromeliads, etc. The only place in Costa Rica where I could see Lotus in bloom. There's a Japanese Garden, which could have...More

Not extraordinary but worth a stop. The orchids are the highlight but the Japanese garden and the koi pond are good too.

The distance is 40 to 50 miles. The trip would not normally take very long but it depends on the traffic. If you're in a rental car street signs and traffic signs do not exist. You will need to rent a road mate or similar... More

I wrote a good answer but the site said I could not include web sites or URLs which I did NOT. Annoying to have to erase most of my answer. I have no idea what you thought was a web site or a URL.
