We had an incredibly day navigating in the boat with Rolbin. We were on a party of 7 adults and had a private boat all for ourselves. Roblin took us snorkeling and paddle boarding to some amazing places where we got to see a lot of fishes, coral refs, manta rays and had a lot of fun with the paddle boards as well. The drinks and the food prepared by Rolbin were excellent and he and his crew were so nice and amicable, we had the best experience. I cannot recommend them enough.

Oh my Goodness!!! What an amazing experience. My family of 10, including two young children, did the all day private Catamaran tour. I was worried the kids might be too young to really enjoy it, but i was TOTALLY wrong!!
We left in the morning and boated out into the sea, we had fresh fruit snacks and fresh fruit smoothies and all the yummy drinks! We snorkeled in a really cool spot near corral, then landed on a pristine, calm, private beach with white sand. We had homemade, healthy DELICIOUS lunch, snorkeled some more, explored the island, paddle boarded, made sand castles, saw tons of wildlife, and floated in the sea. It’s truly memorable and unique, the highlight of our trip. The crew was fun, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. We had a wide range of ages from toddler to grandparents and the crew accommodated everyone very well. Everyone had the best time. You absolutely must do this! Rolbins will take care of you! It’s also great to support a local Costa Rican business.

Chartering a private catamaran cruise was the highlight of our trip to Costa Rica! Rolbin and his crew made our day so memorable. Communication with Devon at Marea Alta to arrange our trip was prompt and professional. Rolbin met us at our designated spot at Playa Hermosa and we were greeted by another 4 members of the catamaran crew. Drinks were blended as often as we requested, music was played, and our destinations catered to our requests (private beach, sea caves, snorkeling). The crew prepared an amazing lunch that was not only super tasty but presented so beautifully! Pricing was very fair and we were happy to tip the crew for their outstanding service!

We had the best day on the boat with Rolbean! He was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and curated an incredibly fun day on the boat for a group of 5 kids and 2 adults. We went to three different locations to snorkle, swim into beaches and see wild life. I have taken a lot of boat trips on a lot of family vacations, and Rolbeans' great sense of humor and joy of life made a beautiful day on the boat, an extraordinarily great outing! It doesn't hurt that being on the water off Papagayo is amazing, but Rolbean is the person who put the trip over the top fantastic! I would recommend to anyone.

Thank you for a brilliant few hours - in the boat, snorkeling, and on the beach. Our guide Gabriel was absolutely lovely and our captain Ernesto was amazing. It was a really windy day but they knew where to go to find a sheltered cove for snorkeling. Gabriel made my family feel so safe while in the water - even for those doing it for the first time. It never felt rushed and it always felt safe. We didn't see many fish due to how choppy it was but the experience was really positive for all 7 of us. I highly recommend the smaller boat as it was very fast to get to where we were going (we were passing everyone else). Two of my kids get sea sick so this really helped. Ernesto and Gabriel were also very accommodating with special dietary needs due to allergies, etc. Ernesto made a superb guacamole that we are still talking about! This company is 5 star - all really good people. If you want an experience other than a big party boat with loud music and lots of booze, I can't recommend it enough for your family and friends. It was so much fun!

We had the best experience with Rolbin on our four hour charter. Rolbin picked us up right on the beach in front of the Riu Guanacaste. Our adventure started with spotting a sea turtle and a whale. We did some recreational fishing and then snorkeled. The snacks Rolbin made us were fantastic. Rolbin came highly recommended from a friend, and she was spot on. This was the best part of our trip to Costa Rica.

Where do I even begin? It would be impossible to sum up in a few words all of the ways that Marea Alta made our all-day private sailing trip perfectly enjoyable and memorable. Planning a trip to Costa Rica for 14 friends is no easy task, so I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to charter the catamaran, thanks to Devon. From start to finish, our sailing adventure exceeded our expectations. Rolbyn, the captain and the crew truly exemplified the warmth of Costa Rican hospitality and made us feel like family. We swam, cave-explored, enjoyed a delicious lunch (including fresh ceviche), and most of all, enjoyed soaking up the sun around the Gulf of Papagayo. The icing on the cake was that Marea Alta was a third of the cost we were quoted by the concierge at the property we were staying at on Peninsula Papagayo. This is the best bet for your money!

What a fantastic day we had with Rolbi and Alex, and the rest of the crew. Warm, friendly, funny, and so knowledgeable about local history and nature, they took our group of 12 women on a sailing adventure in PPG, making stops at local beaches, feeding us ceviche from mahi mahi they caught that morning. A truly perfect day on Earth with the most lovely guides. I can’t wait to work with them on my next trip.

Hi Sam! Our tours are available all year round. In October we recommend morning/early afternoon tours. We offer private charters so pricing below is for groups of up to five. No other guest would be added to the tour. Just the four of you along with your Captain and Guide.
Morning Snorkel $325
9am-12:30pm
Tour starts with a nice cruise along the coast to try and spot marine life. We would then visit a few of our favorite, and less frequently visited, snorkel spots. Afterwards we stop at a nice secluded beach where you have the option to disembark and explore or relax. A nice beach setup will be prepared for you to enjoy. *note: for this tour we provide water and fresh fruits. a cooler will be onboard with ice if you would like to bring any other refreshments and snacks.
Half Day Ocean Tour $500
9am-1pm
This tour offers a morning of sightseeing and exploring the coast. Activities can include Snorkeling, Watersports,Beach hopping, and your guide will be there to make sure it is a memorable day. Itinerary is flexible and the morning is all yours. We will also have a nice beach setup prepared for you where you can enjoy plenty of snacks and refreshments (beer, wine, water, juices) provided.
