I am writing this on behalf of my nephew who booked a 4 hour fishing trip for his honeymoon. I wanted to upgrade to a longer trip and pay for their trip so I reached out to Roberto to help me with the planning of that as a surprise. Roberto was very helpful in making extra efforts to ensure my nephew and his wife had a special trip. He went to the store and got extra snacks and drinks for them and offered to bring a bottle of champagne (which I politely declined-rocking boat out in the middle of the ocean and all). When my nephew and his wife arrived they were thrilled to hear their tour would be longer. My nephew told me the boat captain was Manuel and he was outstanding. Right away he took them to an area where they started seeing whales, one after another. Then dolphins started following their boat. They caught some nice sized tuna on their trip and Manuel took them to a quiet beach where he prepared and served them sashimi from the fish they had caught. He also cleaned and filleted the tuna for them which they took to the chef at their hotel. He in turn prepared a lovely meal from their tuna caught on the trip. At the end of the trip they both got nice performance logo shirts to remember their day. According to my nephew this was the best tour of their entire honeymoon. I attribute much of that to the extra mile Roberto and his team went to make sure their trip was outstanding. This is a first class operation. If you love fishing or being out on a boat, I highly recommend you book a trip with Salt Hunt.

My wife and I had a fun day of inshore spearing. Despite the viz not being the best we were able to adjust and find multiple spots to dive and score fish. The communication and booking for the trip could not have been better. We were already flying in spear guns and Roberto arranged for dive weights for us on the boat so we wouldn’t have to worry about checked bag weight limits. The boat and equipment were immaculate. I highly recommend the Salt HuntTeam for any water activities if you are staying in the Tamarindo area, the marina is a very short drive away and the directions are very clear. Manuel (our Captain and all around great guy) even filleted our fish so that we could cook them later that evening, and it turned into some amazing ceviche and tacos! I truly hope to go spearing with these guys again in the future!

Selected the Salt Hunt for a special trip. Since the first point of contact, I found exactly what I was looking for (since they let you customize your trip) with outstanding customer service and easyness.
At the time of the reservation I found a secure parking lot to leave my car and the Captain was punctual waiting to start the ride.
Since I did not choose to fish, I requested to visit deserted (almost private) islands and beaches: just spectacular! I was told this is the best fishing charter in the zone.
In regards to the the boat and equipment, I found a brand new dual engine boat with all the necessary equipment to have a fun and safe trip.

Got re-booked at the last second because the boat we were booked on had mechanical issues the day before (no fault of their own). Turned out to be a blessing. The boat we fished on from SaltHunt, 32 Boston Whaler Outrage, was top shelf - plenty big enough for our party of 5 adaults, newer and exceptionally clean, tidy bathroom for my girls, good fishing tackle, and we cruised out and in at 28 knots making for more fishing and less boating. Manuel (Captain) and Kevin (Mate) were exceptional hosts working hard all day to put us on fish. We started the day with a quick stop on the reef and picked up a grouper and a few rock fish, then we headed further out to the shelf hunting for Sailfish, Marlin and Mahi where we hooked 5 billfish and tagged and released a 200 lb Blue Marlin and a 80 lb Sailfish. Great day, great weather, exceptional service, exceptional boat and crew that took care of us all day to make sure we were well fed, well hydrated (on water an beer) and on fish making it a memory day for all of us. I fish every other weekend back home so I am more critical of a good day on the water and I would highly recommend Salt Hunt and this boat and crew again!!

Had a phenomenal time with Sebastian on the Salt Hunt yesterday! Beautiful boat, scenery, and fish. We took our time and tried a variety of bait and tackle and caught some phenomenal fish that have stocked us up on fresh tuna for the rest of our trip. Can’t say enough good things about the natural beauty of this area, this trip would have been worth it even without catching the fish. That being said, the fishing was excellent and the boat was top notch with extremely high quality equipment. We also got the chance to swim in a crystal clear cove with a secret beach and enjoy a couple beers during the trip. 10/10 can’t wait to get on the Salt Hunt again!

Me and a friend went out with the idea of Spearfishing tuna and we got so much more! The Salthunt crew is a super organized and efficient team. The boat is very seaworthy and took us approx 30 miles south in search of the spinner dolphin Megapod in style. We trolled while trying to find the dolphin pod and caught two huge sailfish, then finally found the spinners and started trolling and popping for tuna with great success. After we secured a few nice tunas we jumped in and speared several more with the captain expertly placing us in the path of the tuna schools. Couldn’t recommend this company more, they work very hard to deliver an exceptional experience. Thanks guys!

Awesome trip!! The captain was very knowledgeable, took us to the right spots and had really cool fishing techniques. We also got to enjoy on some beautiful beaches with no-one around. We even got some snorkeling in as well. Best day in Costa Rica by far!

Salt Hunt is a beautiful center console boat, set up perfectly for fishing. Among the best in Cosa Rica for sure. All of the fishing gear is high quality (Shimano) and very well maintained. The boat has two outboard motors so you can get out to the fishing grounds fast, and rides very smooth. Simrad electronics..fish finder and topo maps.
Great customer service all around!! Was super easy to book and communicate via WhatsApp. Thank you!

Best fishing experience ever! Sebastian and Manuel always make sure we have an awesome time. I’ve gone fishing 8 times with Salt Hunt and we’ve caught fish every time. They have world class fishing gear and the boat is súper comfortable. We even found a pearl on a seashell once while snorkeling at a prestine beach. I Highly recommend!

Our trip with Salthunt is becoming a repeat holiday experience! I rent this boat every 6 months or so with close friends. What I like most about the experience is the flexibility SH gives us and their service. Some friends like fishing, others like snorkeling, others like tanning. And all of us like Manuels (captain) drinks!!
SH is the only boat in Guanacaste that gave us that flexibility to please all! Would definitely recommend. In fact we are going again in a couple of weeks.
