I am not big fan of too touristy places and Cahuita can be at times very busy. But it is still a nice place and you shouldn't skip this place if you are in the area. If you come early enough (it opens at 6am...More

We always recommend using a guide when you first arrive somewhere, whether it's a city or a natural attraction. They can show you some basics & then it's easier to find things yourself. Genry was our guide & he was fabulous...Playa Negra B&B booked him...More

Excellent! Ask for Claire, the best guide ever! We saw six snakes in 1 km & she taught me how to survive in the jungle. She is very knowledgeable and very sweet.

I love cahuita because its peaceful and relaxing environment. Accommodation and prices are very descent and you have the option to visit other nearby locations such as puerto viejo and manzanillo. The town is safe with friendly folks.

It's a really easy trail. How far you get is all dependent on how long you can carry her.

All the way along the trail you can access the beach, so it is easy to take a break if you get tired. There are shelters at intervals along the first part of the trail so you can sit in shade if you wish.
