Pura Vida Gardens and Waterfalls is unique in Costa Rica. It is truly a "Visual Masterpiece". The gardens begin with the natural beauty of Costa Rica and four waterfalls in the property with spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean. To this millions of plants, flowers and orchids from all over the world have been added. Manicured walkways meander long a river and at the crest of the mountain which make the entire 50 acre gardens accessible to all. Have lunch in our restaurant and browse the gift shop that offers authentic Costa Rica gifts.

We always enjoy visiting Pura Vida Gardens and have for over 8 years now. We love bringing our friends and family here when they are in country visiting us. It is so easy to walk around, well cared for and manicured and just a fun excursion. I love that the trees and plants are labeled so I can learn about... More

While the grounds are admittedly pretty and well kept this is absolutely a sham by the American owner who is more than eager to invite you in at $20 USD a head to walk a paved path around his property while he queues you up to spend more for food and souvenirs. You will be told there are two waterfalls,... More

Me and my family stopped here to see the waterfalls. 20 dollars a person is very steep for what you get. It's about a 10 minute walk to see the "waterfall" which is extremely far away and had honestly poor view. The gardens were very nice and maintained though which you could walk through but included overly aggressive hills, they... More

We took this excursion in Costa Rica because I love nature, its flowers and waterfalls. This is a private little park very attractive. Lots of exotic flowers, a small waterfall we could see from the distance and some birds unique like tucans. We walked around the park admiring the beautiful settings, very well kept. Took lots of pictures. Afterwards we... More

This is a beautiful mountain top botanical garden which is well maintained and staffed with very good tour guides. The lunch was excellent with fresh local fresh fruit and drinks. Overall the plants and vegetation are very informative. Spent an hour in the gardens but like to have spent much more time. The walk thru the garden contains some very... More

We decided to visit Pura Vida Gardens on our last day in CR and are glad we did. The drive up the mountain was not nearly as bad as we thought after reading some of the other reviews. If you have driven the Pacific Coast Highway in California, this will be no problem. We were fortunate to be the only... More

Had a great visit to the gardens. Was able to get some great photos with clear skies and as the mists rolled back in. If you just want a walk in the rain forest, it may not be for you. If you want to capture some nice photos of the plants and surrounding forest along with mists floating in and... More
