Description:

Join us as we cruise into the open sea, looking for spotted dolphins,...

Join us as we cruise into the open sea, looking for spotted dolphins, migrating humpback whales, sea turtles and manta rays. You will be captivated by the sight of dolphins frolicking in the boat's wake, or the inimitable sound of a whale's song( WE CAN NOT GUARANTEE ANY WILD LIFE SIGHTINGS, WIND FOR SAILING OR CLARITY FOR SWIMMING OR SNORKELING) For the safety and security of our clients we reserve the rights to make decisions in case of bad weather)

As we make our way down the coastline of Manuel Antonio National Park, the mysterious islands, jagged cliffs and unique rock formations will look almost close enough to reach out and touch. These are the nesting grounds and home for numerous species of marine birds, including pelicans, boobies and ibises. While touring the coastline, the captain will hoist the sails, wind permitting, and you will delight in the feel of the catamaran cutting quietly through the blue waters of the Pacific. Our onboard guide will be ready to answer any questions you might have, and will point out sights of interest while giving a brief history of the area. After touring the coastline, we will anchor in a protected cove within the pristine Biesanz Bay for swimming . We provide masks, snorkels and fins with no extra charge.

After you have finished playing in the water, come back on board and enjoy the delicious lunch we have prepared for you: Grilled fish brochettes with onion and green pepper, pasta salad with vegetables, fresh tropical fruits, and natural fruit drinks. As you relax over lunch on our boat in the tranquil bay, surrounded by the lush verdant landscape, having enjoyed all our tour has to offer, you might well feel that you now know the meaning of the word paradise.

The last leg of the tour is the trip back to the Quepos marina. An unforgettable added bonus for anyone who comes on one of our summer season afternoon tours is the chance to witness one of our dramatic tropical sunsets en route to the harbor. The total time of our catamaran tour is 3 1/2 hours, but the memories will last a lifetime.

Planet Dolphin offers three different catamarans for your island adventure. The Tom Cat II, our newest boat, is a roofed and shaded 70-foot sailing cat with a seating capacity of 110. It is available for all types of events-Birthdays, Weddings, Corporate Outings, Bar Mitzvahs, and Memorial Services.

The Tom Cat II: is an exceptionally stable and smooth-riding boat, perfect for the customer that wants a bit of comfort during the tour. And for that ones who like to feel the adrenaline we have a waterslide ``Tsunami''.

The Tom Cat I: is a roomy and comfortable 60-footer with a capacity of up to 40 passengers. The boat is partially roofed, providing a large shaded area with plenty of banquette seating. The bow of the boat features an open air trampoline deck and additional banquette seating with a water slide.

The Spanish Dancer: is a 37-foot MacGregor sport catamaran with a capacity of 12 passengers, perfect for small groups. This boat is a fast and maneuverable craft and recommended for those who like being closer to the elements and truly enjoy the feel of the sun on your face and the sea air in your lungs.

All of our boats have all requisite licenses, inspection certificates and insurance. Our captains and guides are seaworthy professionals and tourism industry veterans who always put the safety, well-being and enjoyment of the customer first.

I come to Quepos every year and I always make sure I get booked to go on a trip with Planet Dolphin. This year was no different. I took my wife and kids with me and we all had a wonderful time. The staff on the boat are very friendly and accommodating. My kids are 7 and 13 and they... More

Great experience all round, on a sleek catamaran cruise from Manuel Antonio. We saw several humpback whales, a school of dolphins, a yellow-bellied sea snake and plenty of exotic birds. The staff and skipper knew when to accelerate and when to cut the engines, in order to maximise the wildlife experience. Then there's the opportunity to swim from the roof... More

I am a member of the Marine Corps League Costa Rica. In April 2016 we sponsored 10 wounded warriors for a visit to Costa Rica for relaxation and fun in the sun. One of the events we scheduled was a 1/2 day on a Planet Dolphin catamaran. These wounded warriors, along with some of our members, had a fantastic time.... More

My wife and I had a lovely trip on the catamaran. What made the trip really special was the sighting of two humpback whales. The team onboard really look after you. They make sure you're always topped up with drinks and they make sure you're safe in the water. The food, fish kebabs were so so good. We both went... More

This was our last planned excursion for our week in Costa Rica, and it was the best way to end a great week! The catamaran and the crew were awesome, and the views were spectacular! We even saw a mother and her baby humpback whale! After snorkeling, they provided a wonderful lunch . . .and the free rum drinks were... More

The trip was average mostly because we went in rainy season and visibility was less. Drinks were plentiful if you are not particular about your rum. Lunch was adequate but fish was chewy and over cooked . The boat was spacious and snorkel equipment very nice . The boat slide was a fun add on. The view of the coast... More

My extended family and I (11 of us from age 12 to age 70) spent the mid morning- early afternoon on a wonderful Catamaran trip. We had the 'Spanish Dancer' 35' Catamaran all to ourselves. It was a beautiful day and sailing on this boat was wonderful. We stopped and had a chance to swim and snorkle... There were a... More
