We didn't get a guide. Saw three different types of monkeys and four different slothes. Walked to the overlook, beautiful view. Beaches are very nice, but way too many people to enjoy..

Great for animal watching! Saw sloths, monkeys, raccoons, snacks, birds, and lizards. Super hot, so go in the morning.

The national park is great. There are a lot of monkeys and birds. We saw a couple of sloths too. Lots of guides offers their help outside the park, but honestly... there are lots of people walking around with guides... everytime you see them stop, you know where to stop too ;) If you like snorkling, bring your stuff and... We saw a sloth, birds, and 3 types of monkeys. The beaches were beautiful and we hiked the catredral trail as well which had great overlooks. I recommend a tour guide while you are there. They will see things you would miss, and they carry a scope so you can actually see the wildlife. If you go without a guide,... More

As everyone else has said, the park is amazingly beautiful. Here is some advice on how to better enjoy it. 1. Before you go, find out exactly what food & drink you can bring with you. I thought we could bring snacks, but when we got there all you could bring in was fruit and sandwiches. Not complaining. I understand... More

I took a tour - which was nice, but i would recommend just do it on your own. Also start early in the morning - do some hiking and finish the day at the beach. There are 2 beaches - firs one you will see packed with people - if you go a bit further the other beach is better,... More

We loved the national park. We did have a private tour guide (shared with another family) but that is 100% necessary! We, and the other family, commented about a dozen times that the walk through the park would have been fairly lame had we not had a guide. They picked out about 5 sloths - we never would have seen... We loved our tour through Manuel Antonio Park. It is essential to have a guide. Our guide helped us to see so many things that others from our group didn't get to see because they didn't think they'd need a guide. the park is extraordinary. Don't miss it!

The Park is Pristine and the walks are wonderful with a great chance of seeing sloths, monkeys, birds etc. The guides are good, though we never used one. Be sure to take plenty of liquids to drink becaise its hot and humid. The beach is superb so don't forget your swim wear. A word of caution if you take a... More
