This was another trip up into the mountains. The road is rough but once you start your trek to see the waterfalls, the ride is forgotten. Our tour guide made sure we saw all there was to see. He found us a small viper, and...More

This is a great waterfall right off the beaten path. We went during the rainy season and the trail was quite muddy but that was expected and made the short hike that much more challenging and fun!

Beautiful views and great park. Plenty to see and be sure to take plenty of battery and memory space for your camera!

We asked the lovely guides in Monteverde Cloud Forest about this waterfall and they tried to warn us that there was no water in the waterfall anymore, but considering we were in the beginning of rainy season and it had been raining quite frequently, we...More

If you are in the park and heading in the direction you might as well stop by. The waterfall is not anything special but it does offer a different kind of setting than the green of the forest.

This is a small nice waterfall in the reserve that is worth a visit but do not expect anything spectacular.

Which is the best way to access the trail and waterfall for a short (2-3 hour) hike? I've read variously that one can hike 3 hours one-way from the Cloud Forest Biological Reserve, or 45 minutes from the U. of Georgia campus, or from a private family farm up a canyon from below. We're thinking about including the fall on our visit to the area in a few weeks, and the timing of a 45 minute-1 hour hike each way from the U. of Georgia campus sounds good. Any suggestions? Thanks a lot, Les and Riki

Sorry, the waterfall is closed because it is dangerous. Two people have died already don't push it!

The Place has been closed due to previous tragic accidents. You may see the waterfall from two different places in Monteverde, on the main steep road to San Luis that is a bit risky and from the Observation Deck at Ficus... More
