The animals do not behave in the same way at night than at day. Most of them became active only at night. Snakes, all kind of insects and bats will surprose you for hours

Monteverde Cloud Forest comes alive at night in a whole new way, very unique nightlife, requiring a guide. Definitely need your camera and good hiking shoes. Can be a small hike to see loads of stuff. My family would recommend Marcos at Pasion Costa Rica....More

You meet about sunset and they take you on a hike through the rain forest. Each person gets a flash light. This is very safe for adults. There is no guarantee that you will see anything, but its likely something will be out. I saw...More

You can book with a number of companies for the night hike and they all have their own areas for the hike. We went with Desafio Adventure and the hike was one of the highlights of our CR vacation. We had already been on a...More

It was interesting to see some animals and the guides do well to work together to find different animals for the visitors. It is pricey though.

I could not find this exact tour to review but our night walk was called a twilight walk at Refugio de Vida Silvestre Monteverde. Our guide was Sergio. It was cool to be on a walk at night in a forest but it was way...More

The night walk area is situated in a small area of creek line bordered by a road and an old coffee plantation. The operator fitted 5 groups (about 40 people) in on the night we took the tour. Looked like a scene from Star Wars...More

First off: you can never guarantee how many animals you'll see. We saw sloths, a number of birds (not including a quetzal I'm sorry to say!), tarantula, and pit vipers. But the experience is more than just the wildlife. Our guide had great knowledge of...More

A unique experience, seeing what animals come out at night! The forrest is alive after dark. It opened a new door for my teenager who now tells me she wants to be a field biologist and move to Costa Rica!

Payed 25$ for 1.5hours night walking tour, saw a green viper, a sleeping bird, a spider, a woodpecker inside the tree hole. No sloths seen there. Too many persons in a small wood area. Not recommend the tour in this area unless you just want...More

Are the animals like far from us and has there been any incidents with people getting bitten or hurt?

When we were there, the guide lead us around and seemed to know the places where some of the animals make their homes. The birds and sloths were high up in the trees and didn't bother anyone. The spiders and tree vipers were... More

Where did you stay while in Monteverde? Any other tours you can recommend? Did you do the hanging bridges or zip line? We are going end of January and any tips would be appreciated. Did you go to any other areas? Thanks Ken & Mary (Ottawa)

Honestly, if they haven't answer yet I would make reservations else where. Just to make sure you will get a tour. There are many tours offer but very few are really good. Check the ones that answer.
