Calypso Tours is a tourism pioneer in Costa Rica. We created the now world...

Calypso Tours is a tourism pioneer in Costa Rica. We created the now world famous "Tortuga Island Cruise" in 1975 and are CR's first independent tour operator. Throughout the 40 years that Calypso Cruises has been the number one tour in Costa Rica. Experience blue water, white sand, green mountains, superb cuisine and attentive personal service. Calypso's super catamaran, Manta Raya, will pass through more than seven islands in the Gulf of Nicoya. Her Port of Call is the beautiful, palm studded Tortuga Island where you can walk the impeccable white sand beach, swim in the turquoise waters and investigate the marine life, while the crew prepares a sumptuous feast (featured in Gourmet Magazine). Enjoy dining in the shade of white umbrellas with tables covered in white linen.

This is a long day if you travel from San Jose. I was picked up at 5.45am, the first pick up, for the transfer to Punta Arenas. On arrival we were served a costa rican breakfast at their restaurant and then transferred to the catamaran and sailed to Tortuga Island, arriving at about 10.30am. On the catamaran you are served... We took the Calypso catamaran full day tour to Isla Tortuga in January 2017. While the boat leaves from Puntarenas Harbour, we actually came from Jaco (1 hour away on the coast), where we were picked up by a shuttle for no extra charge. Everything about the cruise was first-rate, from the breakfast to the catamaran ride to the activities... More

My family and I (2 girls 10-5; my husband and I) took the cruise directly in Puntarenas. It was so easy to reserve in line. The breakfast was served in a confortable place (The shrimp shack) where we aboarded the catamaran. Our group were 80 people; we were very confortable in the interior and exterior ir the boat. The service... More

We were originally supposed to go to Tortuga Island with Zuma Tours when we were in Montezuma.  However, Hurricane Otto hit and all trips were cancelled.  We had 1 free day when we made it back to San Jose so we booked the Tortuga Island trip with Calypso Cruises and we couldn't have been happier.  The catamaran was gorgeous.  There was hardly any customers... The staff on this boat were amazing. They worked very hard to keep all of the visitors happy and well-fed. The day began with a very good breakfast at the port. The boat ride was about an hour and a half and was very relaxing. The staff were constantly serving fresh fruit and waiting on those who wished to have... More

We were picked up from our hotel at 645a and was dropped off at 9p. The amount of travel time takes up most of the trip. We stayed in San Jose - so we traveled by bus for over an hour and a half before getting breakfast (almost 2 if you include the time for stops to pick up additional... More

I enjoyed an awesome day trip to Isla Tortuga with Calypso Cruises. The Tour Guides and the whole crew are very nice and helpful. The breakfast and lunch (at the island) were really good. Snorkeling and banana boat were fun, but not extraordinary exciting. Fresh fruits and fresh juice are served on the boat (included in price). Absolutely worth it!

Calypso cruices offers an excellent tour to Tortuga Island, boat is very confortable, excellent food, excellent service, good music. Tortuga Island is a magic place near Puntarenas, the beach is beautiful, blue water. There you can enjoy the beach, also there are kayak and snorkeling tours. I recommend 100% this tour, and I recommend travel through the sea on summer... More
