Our driver (Roy) and guide (Max) were both very knowledgeable of the sites and also very funny with anecdotes between sites. The highlights were the National Museum which houses many gold artifacts of the pre Colombian era and the National Theater. Got to see where the President of Costa Rica lives and several less major sites.

We took this bus tour only because our other tour was cancelled and it was a hoot... the young guys who ran this tour were a lot of fun and did a really great job of explaining all the landmarks. The amazing thing is that they managed to keep "the free range tourists" (that were part of our tour) from... More

We stayed at the Hampton Inn outside of the airport. The van came to pick us up where we then met out guide in San Jose. It was a great activity for our last day. The guides are enthusiastic and very knowledgable of the tour stops. Lunch is included which is also great.

My husband and I enjoyed the City Explorer in San Jose on December 9, 2014. Our guide, Senor Ricardo, was very informative and very personable. We especially enjoyed the National Theatre and the Museum with pre-Colombian artifacts. I think Senor Ricardo's personality and delivery of so much information put smiles on the faces of all the people in our group.... More
