Last stop in Costa Rica before heading home the next night. Mature trees giving us a place to rest after a long walk around town, the park leading right to the pedestrian street full on mural and street art. Nice, clean and quiet.

The place is really nice to walk around. As many things in Costa Rica it is a bit expensive considering the place is not very big.

This is just a public park in the middle of the city where one can relax on a bench and read a book.

An average city park with a misleading name. Perhaps because of the national monument symbolizing the struggle for independence in the center of the park it is called national park. Maybe the only NP in Costa Rica for which there is not a hefty fee...More

Go there with a book, sit on a bench and enjoy the local life there - especially in weekends. Also check with the locals if there's any events going on. When I was there on Saturdays in 2014, the park would be full of different...More
