Templo Musica

Nice quiet, cool park in San Jose. Has many old cork trees (press on the bark for a spongy feel). Interesting acoustics in the central gazebo.

We walked around this park on Wednesday and it was quiet. But, yesterday was Saturday and I went back and enjoyed the crowds of people and dancers and music! It was wonderful!!! Go on the weekends and see what's going on!

For a dozen days, the Templo de la Musica has been front an centre for us because we've been guests in an apartment overlooking Parque Morazon where it's located. As an added bonus, we had ringside seats for the musical acts that were presented at the weekend-long TransitArte 2017 festival. Even without the festival, Parque Morazan and the Templo de... More

The music pavilion is in Morazan park just one block North of Avenida 1 in the center of San José. Morazan was the first and unfortunately last President of Central America. He was executed in 1842 in San José and with him the dream of a United States of Central America. Now Costa Ricans dance, play music and perform in... More

It what I would call a meeting place for locals to go and do whatever the locals do. You find music, skateboarding, dance and vendors selling refreshments.

While strolling through San Jose, my friend & I stumbled upon this park. There were some spinners, skateboarders, and a few lone musicians entertaining passersby.

This gorgeous outdoor music/dance pavilion was in a sad, shaggy state. Now it has been beautifully restored to its formal glory with repairs and fresh paint. Well done, San Jose!
