We were picked up on time for our tour. We visited the Irazu Volcano. It was a beautiful sunny time so were were able to see the crater at the bottom. We visited the city of Orosi, Cartago, and the Lankester Botanica Gardens. Beautiful weather, about 78 degrees but up in the mountains it was about 55degrees. We had a... More

This community is everyday Tico life. The folks are friendly and welcoming. Orosi Lodge is a fine place to stay and there are several Sodas (local restaurants) in the area. Maricelli's Guayabo on the main drag by the mercado is a good visit for local flavor. If you go, tell Maricelli that Jim from NC says hola.

OK I went for a week to the Orosi valley. So much fun - ziplined, went water white water rafting down the Reventezon and visited some natural hot springs and a coffee plantation. Its a peaceful beautiful place made all the more so by spending time with the locals volunteering. I went with Globe Aware so that I'd have a... More

Costa Rica has many nice places to visit, but this one specially will give you the taste of what Costa Rica was many years ago maintaining its beauty. It is a place to enjoy a weekend or some soft adventure tours. Very nice place

After a morning business day that started really early my very nice and hosting Costa Rican customer offered me to visit the Orosi valley to have lunch in a Restaurant located inside of a Coffe "Hacienda". We drove from San José, passed thorough Cartago (nice city to take a quick look of the churchs) and continue heading to Orosi Valley.... More

If you want to save money, take a regular bus from San Jose to Cartago, then take a smaller bus from a side street to Paraiso, and after seeing the Black Virgin, in the Basilico, you can walk from there to the Orosi Valley, which will be about 1500 feet below you. First walk towards the right, and you will... More

Driving there is a must. There is so much to see, nice mountains, valleys, rivers, lake, trees, and a variety of restaurants where to choose from.
