There is a sign at the intersection where you usually turn right that the falls are closed, but we continued down the road until we reached the parking lot. You can see one of the falls from there, but the access over the bridge is closed, probably after a landslide. So don't take a taxi to get out there, it... More

This hike is moderately difficult, and just a short drive to the base from the center of town. Make a left at the bridge and climb up about 1 hour to reach the lookout of the waterfall. Bring mosquito repellent and water!

A short drive from the main road up to this beautiful waterfall, just a 5 min walk from the parking area. Quite high and falls into a beautiful clear pond at the bottom, where a nice stream pours out... A must visit in Tahiti.

Sometimes we older and out of shape creatures just have to push ourselves a bit and you are rewarded with something this good.

First, there's the hike. Expect it to be a rough, hot and humid wonderland of exotic flowers, trees, birds, and ferns Then, the pay-off - diving into the fresh, deep pool of spring water! It's INVIGORATING! Slide the natural tobaggan down to the second pool and you are literally on the edge of the waterfall. Awesome.

Part of our tour, a must see! The waterfalls are all spectacular, and the grottos. When you are with a guide, like our Angele, you will see places that most people do not notice. She was knowledgable, professional, warm, fun and worth every dollar.

Most reviews below are for the Cascades of Faarumai. The Fautaua Waterfall looked so pretty from a distance. We love Waterfalls but were not ready to take the treacherous 6hr hiking -- took pictures from the distance and were happy to know see the beauty from afar.

My wife and I did this hike mid of February and we really liked it. In total we spend six hours on the trail and around the waterfall. A great day out! In order to do this WITHOUT guide we used hints from tripadvisor, got in contact with a local (found contact in one of the older reviews) and found... More
