One of the islands on the tour stop whilst at Aitutake, the views are stunning across the lagoon, swim opportunities as well as lots of hermit crabs and the beautiful native white love birds. You can walk past the baby chicks. Great stop off on the tour with Vakka cruises.

Aitutaki isn't that large, so this is a must see alongside one foot island. Chances are every tour stops here, but just in case, make sure it does!

Landed as p[art of the Aitutaki Day Trip. The only place in Rarotonga where we saw birds other then the Minah bird. Up close and personal with white terms roosting in the trees, that were not afraid of people. Had the history of Mahogany timber explained. Taken throught eh middle of the island to our guides "back yard". A beautiful... More

Totally different than other islands. Lots of crabs, coconuts, trees, shells, and gorgeous birds who nest on the ground. Cutest fluffy chicks! And they are not afraid of humans. Wear shoes to visit as the terrain is a bit rough due to shells, coconut husks, and coarse sand. Black Pearl Charters will bring you to this unique site.

Got up close and personal with Terns and plant material. Learned where "grass" skirt material came from and it is not grass.

Only two Motus in Aitutaki have volcanic ancestry, as our lovely guide in Kia Orana Cruises explained. Motu rakau is one of them--it's a nice island, but wear shoes!

During our Lagoon Cruise with Captain Fantastic (Kia Orana), we stopped here and were led on a brief jungle walk. We saw a few different species of beautiful seabirds and saw old mahogany trees; we learned about the different uses of the hibiscus plant; and were told the legend of a Cook Islander and his daughter hiding in a cave... This small desolated island is a really nice visit if you are on one of the lagoon cruises or boat charters. Only thing is that almost all of them visit so it can get a bit crowded at times. Beach is really nice sand bar and pending the tide it goes our quite far. This island was the place where... More
