Who knew there were so many kinds of hammers? A neat history and view into the past with different types of hammers. Check out the hammers outside as well as inside too!

Haines is a pretty small town so the hammer museum is really a prime attraction. It is a real hammer museum and its kind of amazing that there are so many hammers. You have to be particularly into hammers to enjoy it. It's about five...More

To say we were skeptical is an understatement. A museum about a tool? Turned out to be fascinating.. Medical, sledge, fine point, cobbler's, auto repair and more hammers. Odd but intriguing.

As a maker I have a few different hammers so I knew that there were different types. I wasn't prepared to see 2,300 of them on display. When you think of all the trades (wood, metal, steel, electrical, medical, shoe, etc.) it make sense that...More

Like the world's largest ball of yarn the hammer museum is a must-see. Thousands of hammers from pre-history through to the present. Most are 18-19th century creations with ingenious uses. Things you'd never thought about needing a hammer for. A bung hammer, a gate latch...More

This was our second visit to the Hammer Museum and the second time we've enjoyed ourselves. If you think a visit to a museum devoted solely to a tool isn't worth five bucks, think again.
