Fantastic day on horseback across the tidal flats! Mark is fascinating - his knowledge of and love for Alaska is evident in all that he shares. His horses are well cared for and trained and a pleasure to ride. The scenery is astounding and Mark points out wildlife as you go. The walk goes down a very steep hill, across... More

This day was a fantastic time with Mark, my family and friends, Ali (Alyeska) his dog and his beautifully trained and well mannered horses. In four hours of trail riding, one experiences the diversity of trails, rivers and forging them, mountains, fields and beaches. Novice or not, I recommend saddling up with Mark, listening to his stories, feeling close to... More

We loved everything, Mark, the horses, Alyeska his dog, the ride, the experience!!!!!! Well worth everything and then some! Leave him a tip, if you don't I'll be surprised, DO it, you'll regret it if you don't take this amazing journey with Mark. This was a wonderful way to spend the day. Mark was great and we had so much fun. I'm 63 and I only needed a little push to get on the saddle ( ;. The views were amazing. I had my daughter and two teenagers with us. Everyone loved it.

The horse ride took place over 4-5 hours and we tracked down from the drop off point to the beach to check on Cowboy Mark's cows, then back up through a bush trail - the scenery is stunning and well worth experiencing in this unique way. Cowboy Mark was professional, very friendly and chatty - telling us about his experiences... More

Mark is a great story teller and cowboy. It was a fun filled day of horseback riding with his dog Aly running along side us the whole trip. A must when visiting Homer.

My husband and I went on the ride before any other activity in Homer. It was as fantastic as the other reviews mentioned. Mark was in fact very interesting and his beautiful dog Aly was a great companion. Loved the horses, very well mannered. The view was outstanding. I became very sore towards the end of the ride and for... More

We went riding with Mark and Cheyenne recently and had a great time. If you book in the offseason you have to leave a message. Mark lives off the grid on his homestead cabin over the winter so doesn't answer calls until about May. Hearing his stories and learning about the lifestyle is very interesting. The "four hour ride" takes... More

Be prepared for breathtaking views of Kachemak Bay and the tidal flats. You'll meet Mark at his office, sign some papers, and he'll load up the horses along with his sweet dog Ali and drive about 10 miles farther down East End Road to the start of the trail. Mark is a wealth of information about the area, as well... More

I spent three days riding with Mark who took me to wonderful places and shared entertaining stories about his life in the wilderness. Mark has the inate ability to live for months in the wild with his cows, horses and dog named Allie only to return to thoroughly entetain the people who travel with him. He demonstrates a sincere interest... More
