My wife and I visited this lovely little tourist area recently and loved the harbour but not overly in love with many of the tourist shops. There's surprisingly good Italian style coffee available and some nice, but cheeky kids serving it up. My wife liked...More

This was a truly unique place. Shops, restaurants, and travel shops all around. The harbor itself was very interesting. Most places had closed for the season, although traffic was heavy.

The Homer Spit is THE place to be in Homer. So much to do on a tiny strip of land that juts out in the Cook Inlet. Shops, restaurant, fishing charters, and much more. If you are in Homer, you MUST spend time on the...More

My wife and I walked the spit and went into many of the shops. Interesting things for sale but you may be competing with a ship load of cruise ship passengers. Good place to go if you are thinking about getting a tour or going...More

Homer spit is a destination and you pay for it. Campsites are way overpriced at 50-80 per night. that is 2400.00 a month 2.3 times the amount of my mortgage. The bathrooms are ok, but can use more attention by the city to ensure their...More

It's a unique, funky place with cute shops and tasty restaurants. Unique in that you can camp on the beach and have panoramic views of Kachemak State Park.

We were there 6/14/17 for 3 days and never saw the trolley. Seemed to me like that was still early season and the trolley and crowds might really pick up in July and August. The one thing I did notice is the busiest section... More
