An easy to arrange bus ride from Juneau (don't bother with an expensive organised tour) takes you to the Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Centre and then it is a pleasant hike to the water fall and glacier. The visitor centre is nice with good, informative displays, a shop, telescopes provided for close up views and most importantly, very helpful, courteous and... More

Lot's of great trails and fantastic view of the Glacier for free or next to free. The rangers were all friendly and great at engaging my kids.

As a local, I'm fortunate to be able to visit the Glacier any time of the year, and winter is a favourite! So much fun to be had exploring, and the pictures are spectacular!

We took the longest walk possible, stood at the base of the waterfall and just marveled at the beauty and hugeness of this glacier.

Went to the Glacier for the 2nd time, from a cruise ship stop. An amazing experience! The only difference this time is that it rained pretty hard, so we weren't able to do as much. My first time there the weather was perfect and the Glacier just glistened in the sun and was absolutely Beautiful! You can take a shuttle... More

We went on a tour of the glacier. We kayaked around the lake, docked right beside it and the trekked it. It was absolutely beautiful. The bright blues and whites were unlike anything I've ever seen. There is no better way to see it. Highlight of our 7 day cruise.

We were fortunate to have a warm (high 40's) and Sunny day. Just a beautiful view. The glacier, the waterfall and the mini floating icebergs made for a nice visit
