This won't take long, but it's worth stopping in. The church is very old and has beautiful paintings. When we were there, the resident priest was there and chatted with us for almost a half hour about the history of the town, the faith community, and the church itself. But it's nice to just look at the paintings, icons, and... More

Peeking through the windows was about all we could see ,the bell sits at the back porch which has rotten steps so take care.

Although a bit of a walk from the cruise ship terminal, it was worth the time. Lovely historical church with many unique and interesting icons of St. Nicholas inside. Unfortunately the shop next to the church was closed.

It was worth the walk up the hill to find this quaint old Russian Orthodox church with a gold onion dome - as well as getting some good photos we enjoyed walking amongst the residential part of Juneau.

If you like churches with onion domes, you need to see this little gem. It is beautiful and is situated on a hill, which makes it a good photo op. We didn't go inside because my mother was in a wheelchair and there were stairs.

We almost did not go inside, when someone who worked there said we should, so we did. It was so nice chatting with the priest who explained about the Church, and that he knew several people from India who were followers of the order. He made us feel very welcome. It is the smallest, cutest church I have been to... More

We walked up the hill to visit St. Nicholas Orthodox Church on a drizzly Sunday morning just before it was time for their service. A friendly guide led us into the sanctuary and we were greeted by a deacon who answered our questions and pointed out several historical artifacts. The guide took us next door to the former rectory and... More

A beautiful church, worth the walk up the hill. Take the time to stand still and absorb the building and its history.

The resident Priest was very friendly and told us all about the history of the church. This was a neat thing to check out that doesn't require a lot of time.

The old orthodox church is only a short walk out of the dock area and away from the milling crowds of cruise ship passengers. It is a beautiful building with old religious object that had been neglected. When we were there a restoration was underway. When completed it will be a great window into the area's history and old Russian... More
