Great way to get into Alaska!

We were so glad to have used the BC and Alaskan ferries to get from Vancouver to Vancouver Island then Prince Rupert and along the inside passage to Juneau. We would have like to... read more

I've done the AMHS 3 times (on various vessels) and in both directions. On board accommodations are excellent, lounges are comfortable with good viewing, ford is surprisingly good and reasonable and crew friendly. To me, the best part of using the AMHS is the flexibility it provides. While the cruise ships have fixed time limits in each port they visit... More

Was pleased with cleanliness of ship as well as AMHS employees and crew. Also took the MV Columbia back south from Sitka to Bellingham, viewing magnificent sunsets south of Ketchikan. Much prefer the layed back, less crowded atmosphere of AMHS

Took the overnighter from Juno to Skagway. Had a very clean and comfortable two bed berth, with personal bath/shower room. It was small but big enough for two. Very quiet and smooth sailing. Would do it again.

Took the Ferry from Valdez to Whittier (w/ car) in July. If you're there in the high season (Jun to Aug), MAKE SURE you have reservations if you want to catch a specific trip, even more so if you are bringing a vehicle. If you're accessing from Whittier, REMEMBER that the tunnel into town is only open 15 minutes an... More

We took the 7am ferry from Valdez to Whittier. Easy to book and the staff placing the vehicles on the ferry were very professional. Sailing was very smooth with plenty of seats to sit in. Raining on the day we travelled so could not see any views from the ferry. Had the breakfast in the restaurant but food was not... More

We were so glad to have used the BC and Alaskan ferries to get from Vancouver to Vancouver Island then Prince Rupert and along the inside passage to Juneau. We would have like to go furnther but time restraints meant that was teh end of our Alaskan trip. The BC ferry from Port Hardy to Prince Rupert was large, but... More

The Alaskan Marine Highway is a great way to travel the inside passage. The terminal is easy to maneuver and the views are spectacular as you see lots of wild life along the way. My son had an accident and took and stumble and fall and required stitches. The steward and team did a great job of getting him patched... More

During a recent 3 week, 6 port, self guided visit to AK we used the Marine Highway for 4 legs of it: Ketchikan- Wrangell, Sitka-Juneau, Juneau - Haines and Haines-Juneau.. It was easy to use, well organized, convenient, comfortable, up close to the beautiful geography, nature and wildlife of the Inside Passage. Also fun to meet local residents who use... More

I've lost count of our ferry trips on the Alaska Marine Highway System, but we've added three more trips this month. AMHS provides views that no-one else will, except perhaps for a rare few small boat luxury cruise companies. AMHS does it on a regular schedule and for a very affordable price. The single-day cruises provide great forward viewing galleries... More

We went from Prince Rupert, BC to Haines, AK. It was an overnight trip and the most scenic route! The food in the cafeteria was very good and all the staff was helpful and friendly. It was the most exciting part of our trip. The little cabins are basic and plain but the beds were amazingly comfortable. Sadly we found... More
