A very nice activity is to stand on the bluff above the mouth of the Kenai River in Kenai. You can see the mountains with a couple of volcanoes across the Cook Inlet and the Kenai mountains to the south. One can also see a couple of canneries on the shores of the river. If you can time the trip... More

This beach is not for sunbathers (after all, you are in Alaska). But it's good to go for a view of the ocean/inlet & to pick up shells and rocks.

Kenai beach has a view of two of our volcanic mountains. These volcanos are part of the "ring of fire" and steam vents can be sighted, especially on our very active Mt Redoubt. Agates can be found on this beach for the avid beachcomber. They look like amber, translucent brown. Even an occasional amethyst. This is not a sunbathing beaches... More

We don't fish, and know absolutely nothing about it, so this was an interesting spot to watch the sport. I'd also never seen folks just leave the fish heads around for the seagulls to eat. Fascinating!!

I had never seen anyone catch a fish with a net and it was spectacular! Everyone was so excited and friendly. I took lots of pictures of happy people and seagulls!

When you think of Alaska you don't really think of beaches and things at a beach. Yet I live a short way from here and this is a place that is beautiful and wonderfully maintained. The shores are clean and the area is just nice. Being from Florida and having beaches all around this place is comparable...except you don't really... More

Great Walk. Easy access, parking close. Can be windy so don't forget your kite. Great place to visit.

We love going to Kenai beach. There are places to do a cookout, but we had brought a picnic dinner. We rode a four-wheeler, flew kites, played in the sand, and went for a walk. Beautiful evening with wonderful weather!

Kenai Beach has something for everyone. You can run your ATV or 4x4 up & down, gofor a jog, or walk along at your own pace. Build a bonfire & make S'mores, lounge in a chair or on a beach blanket and watch the waves roll in. You can bring your pets to run along the water, bring a kite... More
