While we didn't enjoy our experience with Fishon charters, we did enjoy our short visit to the Russian River. It was beautiful and well worth the visit!

Best known for bank fishing for Red Salmon. Most take the ferry across the river to fish with Russian River flies. When the fish are in, come and get your limit. Bears are often in the area so be alert.

We hit a big sockeye run at the end of June and had a blast fishing the Russian river. About 45 minutes east of kenai, Park at fishermen landing, pay $10 to ferry to the other side.

We took the bus from Anchorage to Seward which included a beautiful drive along the river. Our driver... Earnie from ACT shared a wonderful narration full of historical facts and local history.

Go to the falls, esp when sockeye are running. If you are adventurous, take the foot trail inland there and the fisherman's trail along the river back. The confluence of the Kenai River is also a great destination and shorter hike.

Hi Debbie, I have not stayed at the campground myself. Are you tent camping or in an RV? Prices for most campgrounds are $15-20 a night for tents and $30-40 for rv's. Obviously youd be safer from bears n bugs in an rv as... More
