Come aboard the "Aleutian Ballad" crabbing vessel as seen on season 2 of the Discovery Channel's "Deadliest Catch". Depart Ketchikan Alaska for a 3 hour trip to catch king crab, snow crab, octopus, fish, prawns and more. This tour also features some of the best eagle viewing on the planet. Share the allure and adventure that draw fishermen to the sea. Fishing legends that have worked the Bering Sea are your guides, some you may have seen on TV. The vessel has been retrofitted for guests comfort and fun, with a "live" tank on deck to allow for closer viewing of the wondrous creatures brought on board. Guests stay warm, dry and comfortable while we sail calm and protected waters. This is the REAL ALASKA and you won't want to miss it!

So informative and hands on, but best of all is you become part of the their family. Derrick, Andy and Dave do an outstanding job of entertaining and making you feel at home. We will be back!!

This excursion was a highlight of my cruise. Lots of great information along with stories of the fishermen aboard. The boat was one used in season 2 and featured in a dramatic fashion. We were privileged to see eagles sailing over the boat, whales spouting...More

This tour was very interesting. It is identical to the ship’s excursion, but a bit cheaper. The boat has been modified for passengers and includes a snack bar, restrooms and excellent seating for everyone. The crew/tour guides were very informative.

Booked this as a shore excursion from the Carnival Miracle. The Aleutian Ballad was a short walk from where the cruise ship was docked. We were warmly greeted and seated comfortably on this crabbing vessel that had been renovated into a touring boat with stadium...More

Since we love the Discovery Channel's Deadliest Catch, this is the one shore excursion we made sure to include. It did not disappoint. The crew and staff were friendly and entertaining. The wealth of information these men were able to share because of their own...More

I thought this was a really good tour. Even though I'm not much into the show or fishing, I found it very interesting. It was also a change up from the other Alaska tours. You can only see so many mountains, glaciers, etc. They really...More

Hello! Since we do not serve food on our tour it should be fine. Guest can touch the crab if they want to but don't have to if that's an issue. Hope that helps!
