Well, it is nice and very Alaskan but not much going on. Definitely worth a stop and walk and some photos.

This is a nice little town with many shops - a short walk from the docks. We went behind the shops & found the short trail to the salmon ladder that appears to be several years old. Unfortunately, the water levels were very low when we were there, so the ladder wasn't in use, but we did see the salmon... More

This is a quaint piece of the local history & has to be seen. This is the place the prospectors came to spend their money & like the sign on one of the houses says, both Men & salmon came here to spawn.... Its a series of old brothels & shops & costs nothing if you just want to walk... More

Creek Street in a short easy stroll from the cruise ship terminal, Just look for the large totem pole(Chief Johnson Totem Pole) which is located at Creek Street. There is the original buildings that have been restored back to their original conditions. The water flowing from up in the hills comes through the center of the village and there are... More

We had time to spend in Ketchikan before a flight and so we decided to explore. We didn't know about Creek Street but we were glad we found it as it was very interesting and had a nice authentic feel to it. It was fascinating to see how the buildings were supported on struts and the informative signs giving the... More

Creek Street is always a great place to walk around -- like walking in the past. Stop in and browse the shops along the way.

A walk along Creek St is worth your while. This was the red light district of Ketchikan and the buildings have been well maintained. You can also see lots of salmon swimming upstream to spawn. Pretty interesting if you have not seen this before. There are some great little shops and museums along here although some are a bit touristy.
