We didn’t book a tour at Ketchikan, when our cruise ship called there. We’d heard a few negative things about it, including ‘Take your waterproofs! It’s always raining’. So, it’s best to wait until the last minute, so you can better plan your activities according to the weather. The tour operators were on the dockside waiting for us, anyway. From... More

Bought this tour through our cruise company and glad we did. We had a great two hours with Tammy who told us everything we needed to know about the area - saw the salmon, tons of eagles, visited a hatchery we we saw bears going into the water and pulling out salmon, spent time at the totem park all included.... We took the combo Wildlife & City tour. Booked it right on the pier and were we ever in the right place at the right time ! Guide Marie was a character, knowledgeable and full of stories. Not so much city to tour but very unusual in that so much of it (any part that's flat) is built over water... More

I found myself alone for the day in Ketchikan as my husband was off touring on a motorcycle. I didn't book the tour with the Holland America cruise line but found the kiosk as I got off the boat. The salespeople at the dock were very nice and for the price of $50 (which was a lot less than what... More

For a non-tourist view of life in Ketchikan, we recommend Sourdough Tours. Our guide, Jody, showed us the schools, community center, neighborhoods and drove the full length of the north south "highway" in this village accessible by only sea or air. We saw a bear den, all the local businesses that provide a livelihood for residents there. Even watched a... More

Our group had a fabulous experience with Ray, our guide. It was one of the best tours ever, at a very fair price. Ray is a local gentleman, very likeable and extremely knowledgeable. We saw the salmon ladder, Herring Cove (see photo of bear), Saxman Village, and received tickets to Dolly's House. Ray give the facts, happily answered questions, and... More

We walked off the Star Princess into the information center last week looking for a reasonable tour around Ketchikan. We booked with Sourdough and Ray, who was actually born and raised in the town, gave us a wonderful overview of the city. We stopped at the salmon creek/ladder and saw the salmon jumping out of the water - just like... More

We booked this as a last minute tour after leaving the cruise ship. We were picked up from the visitors centre which was only a short walk from the ship. Our tour guide was a local called Ray and proved to be very informative along with having a very dry wit. Through the tour we managed to see a mother... More

Our guide was Justin and he was entertaining and informative. We took the Saxman Villiage Tour but we also made stops near the salmon hatchery as well as Rainbow Falls. When we got to Saxman, Justin explained the significance and history of all the Totems. As a travel agent, will DEFINITELY recommend this tour to my clients

Please check out review "Absolutely Terrible" below, very close to our experience. Stepping off cruise ship to book a value-for-money-tour, we booked this company's "Wildlife Tour" according to their flyer. We specifically wanted to see bears catching salmon in the streams. This tour, in a street car, goes as far as Herring Creek where bears can be seen catching salmon,... More
