Spent a pleasent afternoon walking the various trails, viewing the artifacts. Interesting history of WWII. The museum was closed so can't comment on it.

The found this place while meandering around Kodiak. This is a great place to visit in fair weather with a great historic and educational hike with wonderful views!

The views and the forest are breath taking! Nice trails and I found some painted rocks while walking. Great history information.

I love this place. Trails are well kept. Views are great. My favorite Alaska city park. Never crowded. Little hard to get to from downtown if you do not have a car.

Fort Abercrombie has great wildlife, and learning experiences. It even has an old time musuem. it shows you old telephones and typewriters. you can even type a message or call another old phone. Great fun for kids.

Really nice park. Great walking trails. they have a WWII museum in the park with lots of really great info and some awesome volunteers.

Is it safe to hike in the State Park without an armed guide? Aren't there huge Kodiak bears around?

We were there in September and saw no bears in the park. There are many on Kodiak Island but they generally stay away from humans unless you get between a momma and her cubs! We hiked almost 8 miles in and around the park... More
