Don't let the name fool you, this is a serious hike. You can either take the more direct but very steep route or the meandering Lazy Moose trail (where you are very likely to see moose). It usually takes us about 3-3.5 hours to summit and about 2-2.5 to return. Even If you take the Lazy Moose, the last stretch... More

This is a great hike, unless you are in great shape and do these types of hikes on a regular basis, plan on 5-6 hours easily for a round trip, especially with kids. Take lots of water and bug repellent is nice. Two options of trails - one straight up (strenuous) or one switch back (still has steep parts but... More

In all fairness this is a beautiful hike but I didn't rank it highly because the trail is very difficult if it is the slightest bit slick from rain. I would attempt lazy moose first then try lazy mountain if you want a challenge. I slipped over and over on the trail and didn't want to end up alone with... More

This is a wonderful trail up mountain. Some areas are steep. Absolutely awesome views at the top. Not for the low energetic. It takes about 2 hrs to top. Four hours to top if you are hauling a bicycle. Clear trail.

Beautiful up on the mountain side! I love that you can look right down over Palmer and how tiny it all looks up there!

Lazy Mountain is a great day hike. It's very easy to get to, and the views as you climb are terrific. There are no switchbacks here, so be prepared for some fairly aggressive grades.

Climbing Lazy Mountain is anything but a leisurely stroll! It starts off with a challenging incline that continues for nearly a mile. About the time you are thinking you have had enough, a picnic table will appear (about 1 mile). Take a break, drink some water, then continue on! The hike if slightly less challenging from here on. I would... More

Our local friend lead us to believe it would be a little over an hour to the top. It took us around 2 hours which is fine because we aren't really hikers but apart from a few peeks through the leaves and trees most of the hike was very boring scenery. Upon reaching the summit, the view is spectacular. Bring... More
