It was difficult to find the road to the ancient oak forest from Sighisoara. The signage is almost non existent. Once at the car park, you can make nice hikes. Be prepared with walking shoes, a lunch and water. There are no signs. If you stray from the main road, you will need to remember how to return. Unless you... More

If you are looking for a okay walk, & don't mind a few steep paths, then this might be a reasonable way to spend 3 or 4 hours whilst in Sighisoara. However, don't expect too much from the Oak Tree Reserve. It is just a large open green area with a few unimpressive trees. And when we were there, 6... More

I thought we would find a reservation, instead it was a big plateau, with dead trees and people listening to loud music, and eating. The view is kinda nice, but not what I had in mind.

Directions found here, along with confirmation from my guest house, and in no time I was climbing up through butterfly-filled meadows, oak copses, past shepherds with their over-friendly dog and tinkling bells, all safe in the knowledge that the red and white signs daubed on rocks and trees would make sure I couldn't get lost. Perfect for my level of... More

If travelling by car make sure you have good directions as no signs off the main road, Do a sharp left hand turn up a forest track after the 4km road marker outside Sighisoara. The drive up the track is not to bad (in dry weather) . No signage for the reserve until you reach the plateau. No sign for car... More

It's a very very unique experience for a real nature lover . The usual tourists stay away can lead to disappointment!

Great bike trip through the park. There is a marked route you can easily follow from Sighisoara to Bradeni Saxon Village.

For walkers there's now a very helpful information board with rail markings, starting on Strada Ana Ipatescu (DJ106) near the corner with Strada Mircea Voda. That's just over 1k south from the town centre. The walking path is crossed by some steep mountain bike trails. Stay on the gentler path and keep to the red on white trail markers.

It may have the oldest Oak Tree in Transylvania, it is peaceful and tranquil, but nothing outstanding.

A wonderful escape from the bustle (?) of Sighisoara but have to agree that it is not that easy to find. Like lots of Translvanian sights, it could well do with a few more information points and signs. Well worth the effort though
