Te Ana provides personalised, authentic Maori cultural experiences based around the rock art art sites created by our ancestors. We offer guided tours of our Maori Rock Art Centre, Te Ana, and guided tours to some of the districts most stunning examples of Maori rock drawings, also known as cave art. We are a Maori owned not-for-profit organisation - 100% of the proceeds of our centre and site tours are used for the management of the rock art sites in the district. Interesting to see but there was obviously a lot of damage before it was realised how significant it was. Some also taken by museums. Still interesting but not a wow

Really enjoyed this visit and we had Wes share his rock art stories. An important place to visit to receive a perspective of early Maori history in our area. The sites are worth visiting too but expect faint drawings and you will not be disappointed.More

Thanks to Wes our Maori guide this was a really informative journey through Maori culture and art. You get a real sense of how the world looked through the eyes of the original NZ settlers.

A fantastic display of rock drawings done by early Maori around the area. The commentary was great a real asset for Timaru.

This was a great find! Never knew this existed in NZ before, was very interesting to learn about it, 3.5yo enjoyed the drawing table and interactive displays but the Haast's eagle not so much LOL, The area it is housed while not big is packed...More

A very good and Interactive museum on the Maori art and culture in the South Island NZ. Thanks to a guide who can answer all your questions, we managed to complete and comprehend our understanding of this indigenous New Zealand community. Worth every penny.More
