Great beach

Great beach and lots of family activity. Best swim beach in New Zealand. Has a scooter/skate rink which the kids loved. Great big slide

People gathered from 8pm to see the Small Blue Pengin, the smallest in the world. Most of the Penguins had fledged and none were visible or arrived on the crest of a wave, so around 9.45pm we decided to leave when my husband spotted a young penguin waiting for his parents to arrive with his tea, Perseverance paid off!

Looked to be a beautiful beach and a good boardwalk around. Lots of people making use of the facilities. Even if not swimming worth a visit.

We walk at a sunny day. The water were blue , the sea was amazing. It is easy walk , that took us 45 min. There were many people at the beach and in the picnic area.

Great place to walk. Many options- board walk, beach, pathways, over Benvenue Cliffs or run the Piazza steps. There is something suitable for all fitness levels- even the boardwalk is wheelchair accessible .

This is a beautiful parkland that has everything you could wish for - playgrounds and water play areas, a huge bird aviary that you can walk through, a fair ground, cafes, board walk, cycle path - and yellow eyed penguins that come in at night. A great place for an outing for everyone.
