What a hidden gem. The day we were there, there was a small family with kids canoeing. The weather was crystal clear and the lake was in perfect mirror form. The fall colors were beginning to peak. Absolutely beautiful.

Great flat hike around the lake. Disappointing that the bridge was closed or we would have made it to the summit of the Cascade trail. Adds an extra 2 or so miles to the hike

I'm sorry but you are stuck without a vehicle. The lake is quite a distance from the lodge. The lodge does have trails that go up Keusugi Ridge but I would be a long but beautiful hike to Byers Lake....

Unsure. As of June still not completed. Knowing how slowly things get replaced with state/federal parks, possible government shut down here and Alaska money woes...I would not hold my breath for completion this year....I... More
