A picturesque place to see and take a hike if you choose too. Really just spectacular and so worth a stop to hike or just shoot some photo's.

This forest is vast and varied. It started off with small bushes sparsely spread and eventually became a forest in which there were lovely shady walks.

We drove though here on our way to Grand Canyon North Rim. Very pretty and a few photos to be taken. We passed some bison grazing along the way.

North rim of the Grand Canyon, Kanab Creek wilderness, very large wildlife population (Kaibab squirrels are cool). Lots of roads and trails. What more do you need?

This area is really wide, open space - the kind of place you see in a Western movie! Wildlife abounds - deer and even buffalo!

How are the road/weather conditions around Jacob Lake in mid April? I know the North Rim is closed until May, but I'm not sure if that is because of snowy conditions or just not enough visitors.

Realize there are limited trails. We found the ones on the north side of the canyon are less traveled.

We are heading to Utah from Las Vegas and want detour away for a day to see the North Rim. I'd like to rent cabin for the night in the Kaibab national forest somewhere between Jakob Lake and the North Rim. I cannot decide which to rent. I am looking on the reserve america web site. Is there a better, more clear man so I know where exactly each cabin is and the environment it is in? Karen
