We stayed here end of 2015 and had a great time. Large private reserve (which means the guides can take their land rovers off road close to the animals). saw all "Big 5"- including leopards. Stayed in 2 different lodges, both very nice. Good food, good guides, great service

We stayed for three nights in one of the luxury rooms, it was huge! Beautifully furnished, bathroom was very smart and had a bath as well as a shower. Great views a cross reserve and near the pool. Our wildlife guide, Juanita was very informative about the animals and birds. She was a great driver and ensured we saw lots... More

Stayed here with my husband for 3 nights at beginning of November and it was fantastic. The safari experience was everything I had hoped for and our driver Abel was just great - informative and entertaining. The lodge was fantastic, really clean and staff were fantastic. Food was wonderful as was the wine.

We stayed at Long Lee Manor, just one of the residences on the Shamwari estate, for 3 nights. Exhilarating game drives morning & evening every day. Lovely room with all modern conveniences. Excellent food and drink & exceptional staff. Abel, our ranger, was so enthusiastic & had great knowledge of animal behaviour. Can't think that this experience could be bettered.

Just visited Shamwari again! What an amazing place. We stayed at Riverdene this time. The one factor that made our stay even more wonderful was our Ranger: Senior Ranger Jan. There is a thing that a lot of Rangers have in common: They are absolute experts in their field. Know all animals, trees, bushes etc and you can ask them... More

This game reserve has all of the big 5 and is in a beautiful malaria free part of the country If you do not enjoy high temperatures winter and spring are ideal times to visit and the rates being out of season are better The staff are well trained and the accommodation is very comfortable

I have always wanted to go on a safari and was looking at choosing the best, which I can honestly say in my opinion Shamwari is. Its malaria free which is a bonus and on approaching the reserve and seeing my first giraffe I was ecstatic. We were greeted with a warm welcome and refreshments whilst checking in. Nothing is... We were made to feel very special and welcome by all members of the Shamwari team. Nothing was too much trouble, and attention to detail was fantastic. The lodge itself was wonderful and had all the mod-cons you could wish for. Our ranger was Mino, who has ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC and looked after our every need and wish. Incredibly knowledgeable and... Not being very interested in visiting Africa it was however my Wife's dream to go on Safari so we booked a Trip which included the Shamwari Game Reserve. The Accommodation was excellent as were the Meals and Service provided by all Staff. In particular we had a Ranger to ourselves (Raymond Gerber) which we can highly recommend although this was...
