Caught the Gautrain over 20 times, each time it is clean, punctual and reliable. I would so more so than the Heathrow expresss.

The Gautrain is the perfect way to get around Johannesburg and to get into the city from the airport. Kiosk are very easy to use and offer cash or credit card options. Schedules are also easy to understand. Very dependable.

I needed to do some business in Jo'burg. My son in law suggested I take the Gautrain since he did not want to deal with the late afternoon traffic on the freeway. He brought me to Pretoria and showed me the ropes for getting on....More

Very good experience. Train was clean, fast and on time. A pleasant trip. I would use the Gautrain again on any future trips in Gauteng.

The Gautrain is great... it's fast, effcient and the trains are clean. I do wish the way-finding signage was better, as it can get quite confusing if you're not a regular.

I always use the Gautrain to get to or from (if the return flight allows) OR Tambo. It is fast, reliable and clean and although not cheap, about half the price of a shuttle and it surely beats driving to and from the airport hands...More

This is an amazing, traffic defying solution to get to Sandton. Best in class train keeping global standards. Great security. Take Uber or taxi from Sandton station- ahead of the traffic and pollution

Hi Brendan Since you will only be in Johannesburg for less than a week, your only option is buying a normal card/ticket that allows you to use the train and buses whenever you want to. The card itself costs a non-refundable... More

Yes, you can purchase the ticket at the station. Check the gautrain website for the fares. From Rosebank to Hatfield Station it costs R55. With the exchange R10.60 to AUD1.00, we are talking AUD5.18.

I was a business traveler who only used the train for a round trip between Jburg and Pretoria. I had to buy a gold card, and yes everything is charged in one transaction. I cannot recall if I paid with cash or credit card... More
