No-one seems to be looking after this statue anymore as the pavement around it is crumbling and homeless people have made it their homes.

the stop on the Red bus tour in the Mining area of Johannesburg was enlightening and interesting. /Lots of cameo displays based on the history of mining including the mining statue and a full size replica of a mine headgear.

Statue of 3 miners (as gold mining is the life and existence of Johannesburg) in the intersection of 2 major streets in the center of Johannesburg.

There is something of the Russian type communist aura about this work of art....it is nevertheless a very powerful image.

Iconic statue, so part of Braamfontein and Joburg. A reminder of the heritage we have of rich minerals and how the country was built with hard work and team work. Let's continue doing that.

In the heart of Johannesburg's Braamfontein. This statue epitomises the use of local labour in the mining sector. Big strong me that sweat for the reward of gold of the earth,

THe statue is a symbol of unity in our one main working production line for South Africa. I still get goosebumps when I see it.
