Where's the fish?

Footloose trout farm used to be buzzing with people. I wonder if the fish levels are extremely low. Thats probably why nobody has been catching any fish recently. On the plus side... read more

It is sad to see how dilapidated this place has become. First thing you experience getting there is the road which is fast becoming accessible by 4x4's only. Then as you park you walk through grass which hasn't been cut for some time. After that you get to pay (exorbitant amount for what you are getting) and experience the service... More

People, please please stop blaming the venues if you can't catch a fish. Rather ask for advice, than blame everything else. I have being fishing at footloose for the last 7 years and I always catch good size fish, at least 8 big ones for the day. My best fish caught recently at footloose is 18.4kg, It is not right... Footloose used to be a a very nice place for a lazy day fishing while the kids are swimming and jumping around. There is not enough fish in the dams anymore. The facilities are old, dilapidated and unkept. The place has lost its glory. It could do with a revamp and stocking up. The staff is very helpful though!

Unfourtunately footloose is not the venue it used to be. The stocking policy is misguided and according to the guy there , only done before winter. Not sure how they manage to make ends meet if they dont charge for fish caught and if there are no fish caught they are not making any money. The place could do with... More

I live very close to this place and frequemt her to test out new equipment. I can tell you that this place does not have any trout bass or kurper. Some dams have decent Carp in them. Its really a carp place save for once or twice in the winter months when they stock up with trout. The personel there... More

Me and my girlfriend went through for the day. We have no idea about trout fishing and seasons and what not. We paid for adult entrance, rod hire and the trout bait. Very nice venue and very clean. After about an hour we go ask if we are fishing in the correct dam for trout and we were told that... More

I've been to footloose countless times. My last visit was on Saturday. A friend had chosen this place to host her farewell based on my recommendation. The venue was nice and peaceful and the braai facilities were good. The annoying part was the distinct lack of trout. Being a trout farm you would expect it to be stocked at all... More

To be fair this is my regular for fly fishing. although I fish anywhere given the chance, this I s30 minutes from my house and usually delivers some good fun and a couple of trout. in 2013 they stocked a number of very large fish and this made for a interesting season as the fish lived throughout the season and...
