The people are so friendly and welcoming. You experience a piece of the way of each tribe and the dances they do. If you want a relaxing place to visit, I would recommend this village hands down.

Good basic overview of now native tribes dressed, lived and danced. Dancing at end of tour could have been a little shorter - after a while it all seemed the same, other than costumes. Not impressed with buffet lunch offered - maybe a 2 of out of 5, but I'm a picky eater. My husband who isn't gave it a... More

I loved the welcome African dance that was performed. I had to experience authentic traditional African dance and culture. No trip would be complete without it. Educational too!

We decided to spend our last night in the hotel in the cultural village. Even though I spent my childhood in South Africa, I really enjoyed the evening there. Our room was in a Zulu hut. But it had everything you could wish for, like an electric kettle, en suite bathroom etc. As the nights can be cool in Johannesburg,... More

If you're a first time visitor to Africa, Lesedi is a good way to learn about the different tribes. There's a market place with each tribe selling different items. Be sure to bargain and make sure the items are made in Africa. At the end of the tour, the tribes put on a show, which was a little staged...some of... More

My family visiting from overseas treated us to the Lesedi Cultural Village. As we did not arrive at the same time the receptionist would not let us in as she could not find a booking for 6 people? Due to this total inefficiency and a total lack of concern by the staff we missed the first show. We were only... More

Lesedi is located in the heart of the African bushveld amidst the rocky hills within the Cradle of Humankind, a World Heritage Site. Explore the fascinating cultures and traditions of the people of Africa, visiting five traditional homesteads inhabited by Zulu, Xhosa, Pedi, Basotho and Ndebele tribes

I think the rating here depends pretty much on what you arr looking for. In my case, having just arrived, I wanted a nice afternoon activity that wasn't too heavy but gave me an intro to African culture. And Lesedi was a perfect choice. You get really interesting info about the different peoples of South Africa: their villages, language, customs... More

A wonderful place to learn South African culture . All the huts were very well designed to express different cultures. . Rooms were safe and spacious . Food was okay . The pathway to our rooms were very muddy and uneven to walk on , it just needs some improvements . Overall the hotel was a great place to stay... More
