The Irene Village Market at the Big Red Barn is an arts and crafts market. The market has received many accolades from the likes of various magazines and newspapers, provides an environment bringing together artists and patrons alike while offering excellent family entertainment. Only original art and craft are traded with exhibitors and their wares undergoing a strict selection process. The market is famous for its South African handmade arts and crafts and is situated on the beautiful grounds of the Sunlawns Estate that overlook vast grasslands and the Kaal river. It is so good to walk around a market and see real hand-crafted goods, not the factory stuff often on display at other markets. The food stalls are also excellent with a large variety.

If this is the one by the Jan smuts museum, I love it, it seems like it's the one market that re invests to improve and the people tend to be quite friendly. Many unique items and creation to be seen here.

The market is normally on Saturdays and once a year on a Sunday. There is a variety of items on sale and a lot of food stalls. You can probably spend about 3 or 4 hours here and should find something that you will not...More

Enjoy a Saturday morning with friends - browsing some cute displays, some really good food (awesome pumpkin muffins!!) and great music for entertainment.

Not only is this one of the best but the new setting at red barn is awesome. Greatest part about the market is the country feel and live bands softly playing in the background. A must for all as there is something for everyone.

Absolutely yes, most welcome. Many dogs are about each week - I'm sure the customary canine etiquette is applicable. Leash and poop control!!!
