Brings back many painfull memories of my years in the military. First with compulsary military service(2years) and then as a civilian serving for 10 years. Great memorial for fallen comrades who proudly served this country. Museum well maintained. Nice view over Unisa, the Union Buildings, Loftus and Pretoria. If you served, a visit well deserved.

The Fortklapperkop Military Museum is a wonderful exhibition that does marvelous work with limited resources and support. The surrounding area and views are spectacular especially at sunset and sunrise. This is a perfect weekend outing for the whole family.

Placed right on top of a mountain, overlooking the now modern highways, this fort provides a clear view for miles. No wonder the cannons face this expanse. Very interestingly laid out, and provides an in-depth understanding of military history

A lovely visit for everybody intrested in South African history, the Fort has been restored and have lovely exhibits. There is a small shop selling snacks and curious. The site has an excellent view over Pretoria, and the grounds are used by joggers or people enjoying the outdoors.

This is a small site but should be visited to observe the strategic location. Also view the small exhibits and understand the situation. No history should be forgotten as it indicates the path of the people followed to where we are today.

Well worth a visit to this historical site. Exceptionally well taken care of, and they have also tried to collect as much memorabilia as possible to add to your education regarding that time in history. take the kids, have a picnic on the lawns there too. Wall of "remembrance" is rather moving as it records so many of our fallen... More

The entry is very affordable and you won't be disappointed. Upon arrival, you receive a leaflet containing a brief history of the fort. The fort is very neat and tidy, and a lot of effort has been put in conserving the history. You can walk around and go see all of the antique furniture, guns, cannons and different rooms the... We went here without much planning, and its super cheap to go to. I took my friend my Canada and spent a whole morning walking around the grounds and taking in the view on a clear day. The museum is well maintained and easily accessible with lots of safe parking.

Walk into the past with a visit to Fort Klapperkop. Smell the cordite as your mind wanders into the past. A great place to visit
