The Blue Train is the ultimate luxury experience,we were treated like royalty. Not only that we enjoyed our time with family and made new friends. The staff is now a family away from home, the most friendly and humorous people you'll ever meet.

We travelled from Cape Town to Pretoria in November 2018. The check in was difficult to find at Cape Town train station, our taxi driver didn’t know where it was and luckily we found a train manager who escorted us. Once in the lounge we...More

This is not worth the money. Check in was fine although the lounge was small. The cabins are fairly small and need some tlc. We travelled from Cape Town to Pretoria and spent more time stationary than moving. This is due to the poor state...More

A lot has been said already but this is not worth the money. In our experience of train travel "must dos", (eg Hiram Bingham, Orient Express and Rocky Mountaineer) this lags a way behind. Arriving 3.5 hours late, too noisy to sleep as it goes...More

This is an experience you have once in a lifetime. It is opulent with very good food and good staff. The cabins are small but well fitted out. The scenery on the journey is not the best and can be described as boring. Once again...More

Blue train cannot be compared to Rovos Rail except for the quality of the coaches. Myself and my wife have done trips from Pretoria to Cape Town on both Rovos and the Blue train. Blue train 3 hours late on departure - excursions were cancelled...More

This was a trip of a lifetime, something we've always wanted to do and it didn't disappoint! I can understand some people's frustrations and it must be awful to have to cut the train trip short and continue the journey by bus. I hope they...More
