The promanard from uShaka Marine World throughout to the Blue Lagoon is absolutely outstanding for a relaxing bicycle ride. If you don't have your own hire one for an hour or two. There are at least 3 or 4 shops that will happily accommodate you in this respect including one at the stadium. We usually pull into Circus Circus for... More

I don't understand why folk rave about this "attraction"... dirty brown sea sand, rows of ugly piers like rotting teeth jutting into the sea, beggars and miscreants aplenty lining the walkway... and chewing gum blobs by the shedload, stomped into the paving by thousands of soles. Ever tried walking on bubblewrap? No thanks!

The golden mile offers great family activities... Cycling -also with rented bikes - skateboarding and stretched out beaches with life saver support. Take long fulfilled walks and visit the amusement Park. Lots to do and too little time...

The upgraded promenade allows for about 7 km of enjoyment for walking, running, riding a bicycle and there are also places to have a picnic and swim. Pure bliss!

Moyo's at the pier near Shaka Marine is great for sundowners. We had some great virgin cocktails over the sound of waves...

What a shame a beautiful setting like the golden mile is used by so many beggers and junkies. The place its self is nice although if your not a beach person there isn't a lot of other things to do, but me and partner tried to enjoy walking along the promenade only to be accosted by drug user after drug... Always great to go for a stroll along the beachfront. Just don't go out alone once it is dark. Don't walk with valuables.

A very special place to walk, jog, or stroll. The weather is generally wonderful and sunny. The beaches and promenade are well maintained and full of people at all times. The Golden Mile offers a wonderful variety of affordable small restaurants and activities. A haven for both locals and holiday makers.

We took a walk and cycled down the promenade - all the way from uShaka to Moses Mabhida stadium - definitely a must do if in Durban.
