My earliest and probably fondest memories are based here at the Natural Science Museum of Durban. My mom and siblings would make this a nearly weekly treat to check out the museum, linger around the stuffed animals and have coffee and cookies at the Watering Hole. My last visit was just as nice. A real treasure in the hustle and... More

Visited as part of our Dbn museums trip with my 7 yr old son. Was very nicely put together, well displayed and in very good condition. Staff not the most helpful or friendly I've found. But then again South Africans still need to work on that customer service side of things.... other than that a very enjoyable experience

As a young child I used to visit the museum at least once a month with my gran and I am pleased to say that 20 years later it is still in the prestine condition I remember it being in - along with a few new additions. The animals are beautiful preserved and set in their 'natural habitat' on display... More

I loved how the taxidermy specimens were staged as if they were in their natural habitats. Extremely creative and educational.

This is really a great day out for the kids. Access is ridiculously cheap, and the kids can be kept entertained for about 3 hours. It really is a great experience, with the only iffy part being parking and finding access in central Durban. But really, go prepared with an adult or two per kid, but go! It's a stunning... More

The museum displays a very interesting exhibition on natural sciences. I really enjoyed the section on Prehistoric times. The explanations incorporated to the display are well designed. I also enjoyed the environment conservation trend in the museum. Great place to visit, it deserves a visit !!

This is by far the greatest of my childhood and adult museum experiences. The Durban Natural Museum has always been a haven to explore our great natural kingdom. From the natural history specimens to the audio museum features and the immense creative offerings, this is definitely one place to visit. My all time favourite was having tea and biscuits with...
