A group of friends and family went to Quills in Bothas Hill for lunch with my son, Matthew who was visiting from Australia. Trainee Chefs from the 1000 Hills Chef School doubled as waitrons. Tasting trays can be arranged to taste the several beers on offer before ordering your preference. Food is fresh, creative and very tasty. Something for everyone... More

Depending on where you stay, it can be a bit of a drive but can be made into a nice day trip, make sure you plan what route you will take before you just start driving in the general direction, there is many different view points!

Drive from Durban to the Valley of a 1000 Hills and it was well worth it . Couple it with Phezulu Safari Park and it will make a great day out.

The view while driving was beautiful but all the litter on the side of the road is a eye sore. We drove up early in the morning and with the mist on the mountains it was like seeing another country all together. The mountains are just beautiful.
