It's so cool to be surrounded by butterflies and birds. The people in the sanctuary are really helpful, randomly coming up to us to show us the stick insects and telling us about them. It's super warm in the so don't remember a jersey ;) Thanks for the awesome experience.

It's set in what seem to be old industrial buildings - a novel and creative idea. Perhaps we caught the place at a bad time, but there didn't seem to be the variety of butterflies we thought we ought to be seeing. There were certainly loads all the same! We had the chance of a guided tour, but didn't take... More

I visited the Venue again with our Local, Maritzburg Camera Club, on Saturday the 25 th February 2017. We arrived early, as the day was going to be very warm, at around 0930 hrs. The butterflies were active already and mobile. The little feeding stations around the large enclosed area were busy and covered with beautifully coloured species sipping from... More

I have visited this place several times, and find it fascinating. I was pleased to find 2 very helpful guides there this time. The shop is also worth a visit, so do pop in if you happen to be in the area.

See and learn about many butterflies from around the world. They also have some parrots and monkeys. A good gift shop and cafe. A guide will take you around the many large and small cages. Visited September 2011.

Just by chance we popped in. And I am so glad that we did. After a light lunch we got to sit in the peaceful natural surrounds with butterflies. What an incredible experience. We left there feeling at peace and content in our hearts. What a lovely place to de stress.

We went here today and were most impressed. A smallish venue but well worth the money. Entry included a tour which was fascinating and informative including viewing the cute hedgehog and lizard. The butterflies are plentiful, well cared for and really beautiful. The coffee shop and gift shop were excellent too. Well worth a visit!

This is a treat for young and old. It is a true sensory delight. The variety of butterflies and other wildlife including terrapins and exotic monkeys was simply amazing. It was also lovely to see the many parents bringing their kids out to experience the wonderful world of butterflies. This is a stunning way of introducing children to the natural... More
