A lovely spot for a nice swim in the warm Indian Ocean the view is amazing a generally lovely place. Though public parking could be improved- we struggled to get parking.

When in Umhlanga take a walk on the Pier, it is worthwhile to experience. A good photo opportunity and also a good view down the coast Durban way.

We walked daily on the pier during the week spent in Durban. Day or night we felt safe as there were security visible at all times. Grab an ice cream and take the stroll.

On a steamy Autumn morning the pier was a nice walk with great views of the coast, and a nice breeze. Lots of kids were playing on the rocks nearby, and there was several icecream and beach toy vendors to shop at. The storm water...More

This was an interesting site to see but of limited value. Once you have seen it and walked along the pier tahts was it. However a benefit is that there is a great beach side wlak hwihc offers both good views and exercise.

Not the longest pier around, but unusual with the "whale-bone" feature. There is not much more to say - a pier is a pier ! This allows for a good view back along the shoreline and is easily accessible. There are no information boards or...More
