Trip for seniors to a picnic lunch July 2018
Jul 2018 • Couples
This is a wonderful peaceful place. We pre-booked a picnic lunch here on one of the days of our tour to this area. It was a delightful lunch; so beautifully presented and tasty.

Book a picnic basket for two. Gather your thoughts in the peace and tranquility of these gardens.

Amazing Gardens
Sep 2017 • Couples
We had read about the Gardens and decided to visit the Farm- We had a very warm welcome form the new owners- the farms had been neglected for the last couple of years, and the new owners have been renovating since March- The Gardens look absolutely amazing and any Garden/plant/flower enthusiast would be amazed. We only spent a couple of hours walking through the gardens and loved every minute of it- I wish the new owners all the success moving forward.

A week too early
Aug 2017 • Couples
We were advised that the spring flowers are excellent. Unfortunately we visited at the end of Aug and on a cold & wet day. Despite this you could see what the intention is and could only imagine what they would be like in full bloom. There was a fantastic fragrance given off by the gardens.
Need to see it in Spring to get the full spectacle & experience

Sequoia Garden Retreat upgrade a treat!
May 2017 • Couples
Sequoia Garden Retreat has retained all of its old charm, but the accomodation has been upgraded dramatically by the new owners to ensure a comfortable, beautiful and unique stay. The Meadow Cottage (previously Jacks) is beautifully appointed with all the comforts of home you could ever wish for -designed for a unique and romantic getaway. The setting is private and overlooks a beautiful dam. The Croft and Chestnut Haven are both upgraded and are both chic and comfortable with everything you could possibly need for a weekend getaway. Fishing, hiking cycling, the beautiful settings and the award winning brewery, Zwakala right next door ensures a fantastic stay in Magoesbaskloof..

Secluded and rustic getaway
Jun 2016 • Couples
The gardens are impressive, even in winter. Lots of trails and easy walks. Croft cottage is rustic - hot water is supplied by (you) making fire in the donkey. There was no servicing. From the ads we expected a fireplace inside (only in the larger cottage). Some items in the cottage needs repair (lightbulbs, toilet seat, missing showerhead). As the owners were away there was no one to meet us upon arrival and we did not see anybody during our 4 day visit. Hopefully these issues would be addressed as it would be a great pity not to visit again.

Abandoned.
Dec 2015 • Family
Our planned 3 day stay at Sequoia gardens turned into a one night only.
We were so dissapointed that we decided to abandon the house that Jack built (throwing two nights paid for into the water). The inside of the House That Jack Built and yard looked completely different to the photos shown on the internet. We know that different seasons bring different displays, but this place was seriously neglected. The flow of hot water from the "battling" gas geyser was barely enough to wash hands, this had to be the reason for the dirty shower and kitchen upon arrival. The yard was so neglected and untidy that we could only access the dam with GREAT difficulty. (Weeds were about 1M heigh.) After seeing my wife and kids wash in the basin we decided to leave first thing the next morning.

I phoned the new owner and called a spade...a spade...
After i detailed all my issues, he couldnt put the phone down quick enough.
Never heard from them again, but i am sure that the money paid for the two unused nights filled a few holes at my expense.

Complaints similar to this one (by others) can be found on..travelground.. " fotos op internet is 'n wanpersepsie van die realiteit."
