It was an honour to us to visit the Shangana village and the people. To me was very important to acknowledge a bit more about African traditional culture and the people. The family was very friendly and a beautiful people. We also had the opportunity to watch the night celebrations where they dance , sing and through dance and music... More

Our guide was very knowledgeable about her culture, the traditional food was good as we all ate with our hands ( no knives and forks ) Although it was a midday tour the washing of the hands by the Chief's wives was not done nor did the guide take us through the fields as advertised Maybe the evening tour with... A typically predictable holiday entertainment which reminded me of holiday camp or cheap hotels abroad style of evening shows. The young dancers were noisily enthusiastic and of course dragged people out to make fun of them to entertain the crowd. Yawn.

Enjoyed the show, but felt the evening was somewhat overpriced. The dancers were very enthusiastic but it generally felt a bit amateurish.

The guide was very imformative. One of our group had great difficulty in walking and the guide took us on an easier route to the Kraal. The chief was looking for his fourth wife and choose one of our tour members. Her "Labola" randsom was too expensive for the chief and he declined. Great laughter, very interesting history of the... We attended the evening show in the grounds of our hotel. There is a lot of jumping and acrobatics, and the stamina shown by the group is impressive.

A meal at Shangaan Villlage is not just a meal. It is a unique experience into the Shangaan (South Sotho) of the Mpumalanga Tribe life. As one sits and eats supurb local game meat and other traditional food, one is entertained by Professional locals as they dance around the fire, chanting, singing and dancing. It is an awesome experience. The... More
